ENGLAND PUT FIRST NAIL IN KANGAROOS COFFIN AT ADELAIDE

After 12 long years Kangaroos lost the test match at Adelaide and that says it all about the current crisis situation of this Australian team and Ricky Ponting. England defeated Australia at Adelaide by innings and 71 runs and this is thumping win for England. Englishmen entered Ashes series as favourites and with this victory they have stamped the confirmation on favourites tag. Kevin Pietersen is the hero for England in this match who struck century after 18 months but timing of this century is absolutely perfect. I mentioned in my last post that if England have to win then Pietersen have to score and thats what happen in this test match as Pietersen scored second double century of his career and help England to win the test match. Alastair Cook , Jonathan Trott, James Anderson and Greame Swann played important role in this crucial win of England and I hope they will perform well in coming matches as well. England did everything right in this match from dismissing Australia for 245 on first day to taking lead of above 350 and stamped their authority on the Kangaroos. One of the high points for English cricket. Last time England toured down-under they faced humiliating white-wash but this time it looks like they came in this series with purpose and wants to prove Australia that English cricket is in pink of its health and can beat any team in the world. Ashes started at the death of English cricket but with this victory English cricket is alive again.

Talking about Australia, I think this is the worst loss in their cricketing history and nobody expected them to lose in such pathetic manner. There is big question-mark now on the captaincy of Ricky Ponting but I must say ' a captain is as good as his team'. Tough time ahead for Kangaroos as fans and media is after their blood. They have to pull-up their socks quickly if they have to win coming matches. With this loss I feel confidence of Australian team must be at bottom but as we all know Australian team is mentally toughest team in the  world cricket and if they think on their strategies and play positive cricket they can come out of this debacle and for this they have to choose right players. They made a mistake by not playing Mitchell Johnson in Adelaide . I feel they have to include both Shaun Tait and Mitchell Johnson in their squad because next match will be played in Perth which has the reputation of fastest and bounciest pitch in the world. They also have to drop left arm spinner  Doherty who failed to make any impact in both the matches played so far in the series and have to include off-spinner Nathan Hauritz. I must say today is the worst day for Australian cricket but they can improve their performance, if they focus on coming matches and forget this loss as quickly as possible.

Now it will be interesting to see what strategy Kangaroos adopt to stop English juggernaut and will England win Ashes this time down-under and able to end the Australian supremacy.
