MAN TO WATCH
Steve TIKOLO

Steve Tikolo is known as Vivian Richards of Kenya cricket. He is with the team for almost 2 decades. In Kenyan cricket circuit he is considered as best batsmen Kenya has ever produced. He is senior most member of the team and also the most experienced and his experience will be handy to the youngsters during the World Cup. Much of the Kenya’s success in the World Cup will depend on this man because apart from his personal performance he has to play the role of mentor as well.
Career-best performance:
Batting: 111  v/s Bermuda at Mombasa in 2006
Bowling: 41-4 v/s Scotland at Mombasa in 2007

Kenya team played their best cricket in 2003 World Cup in South Africa. They reached the semi-finals of 2003 World Cup to everybody’s surprise. Probably the biggest upset of International Cricket in last decade. With some good performances and luck they achieved the feat of reaching semi-finals in 2003 but this time scenario is different. At that time they had good and experienced players. Now they have very few players in their squad who are experienced enough. Collins Obuya is the one such player who is capable of getting wickets and in sub-continental conditions he is dangerous bowler as he bowls good leg-spinning deliveries. He  showcased his bowling talent in 2003 World Cup. But overall I believe Kenya team can’t go to the semi-finals in this edition of the World Cup but they are capable of creating upset by winning one or two matches against big teams and can spoil  party of the few teams.
Key Players for Kenya: Steve Tikolo, Jimmy Kamande, Collins Obuya, Thomas Odoyo and Maurice Ouma
